Established in 1998
Cameron Hall began as a dream in 1994. Joann Savage, President of Cameron Hall, worked as the Social Service Coordinator at R.T. Jones Regional Hospital (now Northside Hospital of Cherokee) for several years. While working with the senior community during their hospitalization, she saw a great need for a facility like Cameron Hall. "There weren't enough options available for patients in Cherokee County. Most individuals who required additional help were forced to choose nursing home placement over other options because it was either too expensive, not dependable enough, or they didn’t want to leave their community." While nursing homes are necessary and very appropriate for some, for those not requiring that level of care, the atmosphere could be very depressing and detrimental to their overall health.
Designed with Seniors in Mind
According to the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), assisted living is described as a combination of housing, personal care services, supervision, and health care in a home-like atmosphere. Cameron Hall is all that and much more! To begin, the building was designed with seniors in mind. The building is approximately 50,000 square feet. The common areas are spacious and easily accessible. There are several room styles to choose from. We have single rooms and larger suites, all with private handicapped accessible bathrooms. The showers are designed to help minimize the risk of falls. Emergency pull cords are placed in all the resident rooms and baths to assure them that help is close by should it become necessary.
 The rest of the facility is elegantly decorated in a traditional décor. There is a living room with a cozy fireplace, a full service beauty salon, and activity room and library. The dining room is set up to offer a view of the beautifully landscaped outdoor courtyard. Three nutritious restaurant-style meals are served daily on china, not plastic or paper. There is also a separate private dining area available for residents with guests. The outdoor-enclosed courtyard offers security and a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the landscaping and water fountain. A paved walking path with benches encompasses the outside of the building for those who wish to enjoy a leisurely stroll.
We Offer a Variety of Programs
A variety of social, educational and recreational activity programs are set up to encourage residents to interact with each other and the community. The programs are designed to meet the needs of each person individually or as a group. From a movie and popcorn on Friday night, dances, games, and educational classes, there will be something there for everyone. Enjoying time with life-long friends or new neighbors, Cameron Hall will allow you to socialize or enjoy the privacy of one’s own room whenever desired.
 For those who require additional help, on-site staff is available 24-hours a day to assist with needs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, etc. The facility offers a variety of most special diets. Monitoring meals and medications assures that everyone is eating the proper diet and receiving their medications at the appropriate time and amount. Scheduled transportation is available for trips to the doctor’s offices, local retail stores, and field trips.
Affordable and Conveniently Located
To pay for this type of care at home would be very costly. At Cameron Hall, we offer all of these services and much more at an affordable price. This price includes 24-hour access to staff, three meals a day, and snacks, utilities, housekeeping, and daily activities. Laundry services are available at no extra charge. Cable television hook-ups and dedicated telephone lines are provided in all resident rooms. Many of our rooms can accommodate two people…so a married couple can share a room at a minimal charge.
Cameron Hall is conveniently located on seven beautiful wooded acres in downtown Canton. Quick access to hospital, doctors’ offices and all emergency services gives residents and their families peace of mind knowing that help is just around the corner should it become necessary.
